Museum of Textile Machinery

history

The idea to create the "Museum of Textile Machinery" in the workshops of ITIS "V. E. Marzotto" in Valdagno was born in the mid-'90s as part of the program of the historical-industrial development of Alto Vicentino initiated by the Consortium for the integration of the cities of Schio and Valdagno, which has provided the expertise of its consultants in the field of museums and architectural heritage.
Teaching and non-teaching staff, former teachers and alumni, in close cooperation with each other and with the President of the Institute, worked as volunteers in order to complete the exhibition halls, which opened officially on November 8, 2003.
The museum bears witness to the gradual technological development of an industry, which has deeply marked the environment in which it was established.
